Why Atlanta is harder on doors than the averages suggest

Atlanta sits in Georgia heat, humidity and summer storms, and humidity rusts cables and bottom brackets, and summer storms drop limbs and debris into tracks. The rating on the box was measured in an average climate. This isn't one.

The cycle rating is for a clean, dry, lubricated door. Friction and corrosion burn through cycles faster than the arithmetic says, so the door ages years ahead of the calendar.

The housing stock compounds it. 1990s two-story brick-front homes with attached two-car garages in the subdivisions, older ranches with carports converted to garages dominate around Sandy Springs and Marietta, and those doors went in within a few years of each other, so they arrive at the end of the same service life together. A single fault will travel down a street over the course of a season.

We serve this area · If you can see your town on this map, we come to you. Atlanta and about 100 miles around it, not just the city limits.

Not on the list? Call anyway. The radius is about drive time rather than boundaries, and plenty of Atlanta falls inside it without having a line on this page.

About the area we cover

Do you travel much past Atlanta itself?

The radius is set by how far a truck can sensibly work in a day, which puts Atlanta and the surrounding towns well inside it.

My town isn't on the list. Do you still come out?

The list is a sample. If you're inside the shaded area, call and say the town; the answer takes ten seconds.

Is there a difference if I am at the far edge of the map?

The estimate is free wherever you're inside the area, and you hear the whole picture before anything is agreed.

Do you go out to country addresses?

Yes. Long driveways and detached garages are normal here; give the nearest cross street and the technician will find it.

Can you work in a gated community or an HOA neighborhood?

Yes. Access details on the phone, and the visit runs exactly like any other.

Is this houses only, or businesses as well?

We do. If the door is the way stock gets in and out, say so when you call.

Which of these areas do you cover most?

The list above runs in order of how often the trucks are out there, so those are the easiest to fit in.

Does the person on the line know these streets?

You get someone who knows the area and knows garage doors. Which is how the questions are short.

Talk to someone who does this every day

When a door does any of this, the answer comes fastest by phone. Describe it on the phone and you get a straight call: urgent, or fine to wait.

No call center, and a free estimate. We cover Atlanta and Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Marietta, Kennesaw, Johns Creek, Douglasville.

A photo of the door from inside the garage, with the door closed, tells us most of what we need. Send it after the call if that's easier than describing it. It lets the tech load the right parts before leaving.
